Nativity Play

Light is Come. By Thomas Doran. (Samuel French. 2s.)

Reviewed by the REV, P. ROGERS.

ERE is a straightforward nativity play suitable for production in church or on the stage. The play can be produced with or without scenery, and with little or no special lighting effects.. The mimmuto slumber of characters without doubling parts it eight male and five female. Some additional characters are required in the way of Angels and Merchants.

The author has introduced an element of humour to relieve the strain of rehearsing so much sacred matter. These passages he places in parentheses with the advice that they may be omitted in church productions. Elsewhere, they will make the events portrayed stand out with greater emphasis.
