Excellent Health
The Pope returned to the Vatican on Saturday last from his summer residence at Castelgandolfo. He is in excellent health after his four-month stay at his Castelgandolfo villa and is still slightly sunburned.
It was raining as the Holy Father left Castelgandolfo in his big black limousine which has a golden throne in the rear. A special police squad drove ahead to clear the main RomeNaples highway for the 45-minute drive to Rome.
In two cars behind the Pope travelled Mgr. Callori di Vignale and Mgr. Diego Verrini of the Pontifical Chapel and Prince Carlo Paccelli, the Pope's nephew.
The annual week of spiritual exercises in preparation for the Feast of Christmas began on Sunday last. The Pope will hold the Consistory ao appoint the Holy Year Legates on December 12.
