Poses Problem For Court
A Paris court will shortly have to decide whether a worker can be dismissed simply on the grounds that he has been discovered to be a priest.
The case, which is in the nature of a test case for priest-workers, arises from the dismissal of Fr, Rent Boyer, one of the famous priestworkers. who had taken a job as a laundry delivery man.
Fr. Boyer was betrayed by his obvious culture, asked by the manager if he was a priest and then told that he should have revealed this when applying for the job. The manager declared that he did not hire priests in any case. All the trade unions in the firm have protested at Fr. Boyer's dismissal and a decision is now being sought in the courts.
