THE LIFE OF THE PARTY. by Ray Mathew (Lyric Opera House, Hammersmith).

THISmaY be the life of the party on the stage, but the same spirit was missing from the auditorium, understandably so. Alan Badel tried his utmost to save a dull evening, but in vain.

WELCOME ' BRIDE

AT the Vaudeville Theatre "The Bride Comes Back" and so do Cicely Courtneidge and Jack Hulbert in a new play by Ronald Millar. One need only mention also Robertson Hare and most people will know what to expect. Those who like their theatre straightforward, not very subtle, and very funny. should go and see the antics of Hare, Hulbert and Courtneidge. 0.H.
