Fr. Patrick Hart (Inst. Ch.)

Father Patrick Hart, of the Institute of Charity, died last Monday, in a Cardiff

Nursing Home after a long illness. He was aged 49,

Father Hart was rector of the parish of Our Lady of Penry, Ferndale (Glam.), where his energetic service has been very fruitful.

The eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. James Hart, of Bridge Street, Cardiff, he was educated at Rugby School, and spent seven years in Italy. He was ordained in Manchester and his first charge was in Ireland. Subsequently he went to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Stowhill, Newport, where he remained for 18 years before going to Ferndale. He was an accomplished organist, pianist and linguist, speaking seven languages fluently.
