The Rev. P. P. Foley

We regret to announce the death, last Friday, of the Rev. Philip Pius Foley, Rector of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Kingston Road, Teddingtun.

Father Foley was the younger son of Mr. James Foley, of Kensington. He went to school at St. Edmund's, Ware, and then to Oscott, for two years. He was ordained in 1904, at St. Edmund's, and his first appointments were at St. Mary's, Cadogan Street, and the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Chelsea, Father Foley then worked for a number of years in North London, at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Marylebone, and the Church of the Sacred Heart, Eden Grove, among others, and he was for some time Catholic chaplain to Pentonville Prison.

In 1919, Fr. Foley was appointed to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Teddington, and while he was parish priest there, he succeeded in clearing off the debt on the church and, before he died, he had the satisfaction of seeing it extended and completed.
