Thanks from The Queen

THE QUEEN has thanked the Catholic community for their congratulations on the birth of a son to the Prince and Princess of Wales. Her message came in a telegram to Archbishop Worlock, who had sent greetings as vice-president of the bishops' conference.

The telegram said: "My husband and I thank you most warmly for the telegram of congratulations on the birth of our grandson, which you sent on behalf of Roman Catholics in England and Wales. Your prayers are deeply appreciated. — Elizabeth The greetings had been sent to the Queen by Archbishop Worlock because the President of the Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Basil Hume, was in America at the time of the Royal Birth.
