General van Fleet, commander of the Eighth Army in Korea, has written to Cardinal Spellman thanking the 600 nuns who gave blood for the forces in Korea on Columbus Day. This " selfless generosity," says the General, is yet another instance of the sisters' " kindness and holiness."
