RED SQUARE DOME ON SEMINARY

ADOME and Russian cross identical with those on the Church of St. Basil bordering on MOSCOW'S Red Square surmount the chapel of the new seminary of SS. Cyril and Methodius — the apostles of the Slays — which has been opened in Pittsburgh.

The seminary, dedicated by Bishop Ivancho. of the Pittsburgh Byzantine rite diocese, is regarded as a new source of hope to Ruthenian Catholics behind the Iron Curtain, who have been robbed of Bishops, priests and seminaries. It is unique: the only other seminaries of the same kind existed at Presov in Caechoslovakia. and at Uzhorod, now in the Soviet Union.

The first was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church by the Communist authorities in Czechoslovakia. and the other was taken over by the Soviet Army when the diocese was " liquidated " two years ago.
