French Catholics Send Food to Catalonia

A Committee for the Relief of Civilians has been set up in Catalonia under the patronage of Mgr. Salvador Rial, Apostolic Administrator of the diocese of Lerida, and Vicar General of Tarragona, according to L'Aube, Left Wing Paris Catholic newspaper.

The president is Sr. Ruiz Ilebrard, president of the Catalonian Catholic Youth organisations.

In response to an appeal from the Catalonian Relief Committee, Cardinal Verdier, Archbishop of Paris, has ordered the French Catholic Committee, which looked after the Basque refugees, to organist a food fund for Catalonian children.

The new committee will henceforth be styled: " The National Catholic Committee for welcoming the Basques and relieving the children of Catalonia."
