The Pope gave an address on the scope and aims of Catholic Action to a group of over forty priests of different nations who have been attending a course of lessons on Catholic Action in Rome.
Among the group were priests from New Zealand, India, Italy and most of the South American countries.
" The Apostolate of Catholic Action reveals by its very name its universal character, its transcendent importance, its urgent necessity," the Pope said.
He then spoke of the value of Catholic Action in the eyes of the Holy See. " It Is destined to co-ordinate in every part of the world, under the vigilant direction of the Bishops, the living force of the laity, to discipline it for the holy end of the propagation, defence and protection of the Faith . . ."
