Old Rite Confirmations

From Mr James Louis Radcliffe Sir, Bess Twiston Davies reported, in last week's issue, that "the first Tridentine Rite confirmation of Catholics to occur in England for more than 30 years took place last week".

In fact Society of Saint Pius X bishops (including Archbishop Lefebvre) have been confirming Catholics for years.

Furthermore, Bishop Gordon Wheeler confirmed (in the Old Rite) two converts, from Anglicanism, in the early 1990s.

Yours faithfully, JAMES LOUIS RADCLIFFE, Hitchin, Herts
