The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition—who nurse and visit the sick and the poor—have opened a Novitiate at Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

On the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the following Postulants received the Habit from Fr. Kevin, S.D.S. Miss Mary Irwin (Sister M. Anthony), Miss Norah Irwin (Sister M. Gabriel), Miss Ellen Smith (Sister M. Hilda), Miss Elizabeth Griffiths (Sister Mary Joseph), Miss Elsie Glee. son (Sister M. Alphonsus), Miss Nancy Mooney (Sister M. Philomena), Miss Mary Doyle (Sister Mary Carmel).
