Cardinals Appointed to Biblical Commission

The Pop% has appointed the following Cardinals to the Pontifical Commission of Biblical Studies: Cardinal Maglione, Papal Secretary of State, Cardinal Faulhaber, Archbishop of Munich, Cardinal Lienart, Archbishop of Lille, Cardinal Villeneuve, Archbishop of Quebec, and Cardinal Pizzardo, Head of the world Catholic Action organisations.

Cardinal Maglione and Cardinal Pizzardo (the latter as Prefect of the Sacred Congregation of Seminaries and Universities) are ex-officio members. The others have all spent many years as Professors in Theology before their elevation to the episcopate.
