The Rev, J. M. S. Brown

WAS ORDAINED BY CARDINAL MANNING The Rev. Joseph Moyle Sherer Brown, formerly with the Oblates of St. Charles at Bayswater, but retired, died on Sunday evening, April 28, aged 85, in the 58th year of his priesthood.

Eldest son of the late Rev. S. C. Brown, vicar of Great Clacton, in Essex. he was educated at Repton Grammar School and St. John's College, Cambridge, and became a clergyman of the Church of England, but was happily received into the Church and ordained by the late Cardinal Manning in October, 1882.

His health failing in 1913, he was never able to resume any active work.
