Two commemorative stamps marking the eighth centenary of the "Decree of Gratian" are being issued by Vatican City. They are of 300 and 500 lire value.
Giovanni Gratian was an Italian Camaldolese monk and canon law expert. His decree was considered a landmark in canon law and is defined as a codification of the law existing as of the year 1151.
