Refugee baby is baptised

Britain's first Hungarian refugee baby was baptised at Storrington Priory, where the shrine of Our Lady of England is housed, on Christmas Eve. She was given the names Paula Eva.

Fr, Kevin Cassidy, C.R.P., parish priest of Storrington, performed the ceremony.

Godparents were Wing Commander Vincent Byrne. Miss Paula Vaux, warden of the home, and Lady Phipps. A celebration followed in the Hungarian Home. Parishioners of St. Philip's, Arundel, subscribed for gifts to the new baby.

On Christmas day, B.B.C. television visited the party at the home. and millions of viewers saw the Hungarian children scampering about one of the house's large rooms on the late night newsreel.
