One of the chief Catholic attractions in France recently has been the crowning of the famous Black Virgin of Vichy, at Vichy.
The famous Virgin stands in the church of Saint-Blaise, which has been much remarked for its curious modern architecture and for its fine modern glass windows by the Maumejean Brothers as well as the handsome mosaic roof. Two years ago the cure of St. Blaise, Canon Piot16, restored the procession of Our Lady of Vichy, which half a century ago was one of the most important religious manifestations in Central France. This procession has once more become an annual event attracting thousands of pilgrims.
