Fr Akthonsus Putts, SCJ, former Superior of the English communities of the Sacred Heart Fathers. in Holland, aged 73.. He was ordained In Holland in 1933, and later attended the Angelicum, Rome. and Freiburg University. After becoming Superior of the Sacred Heart Fathers he was responsible for the foundation of several of its melot institutions, including St Joseph's, Malpas, Cheshire. and Woodcote Hall. Newport. Salop.
He was first Provincial of the society in this country (1947 to 19581, in 1962 ee became parish priest at Redbourn. Heefordshira. and retired to Holland in 1974.
Sister M. Clever Gordon, a native of Boyle, Co Roscommon, Ireland. and a Sister of St Joseph of Peace. in the Sisters' Nursing Home, St Hugh's. Cleethorpes, aged 79, She spent 3g years in Grimsby where she taught and was later Principal in St Francis Xavier's Convent School. She left Grimsby to take up duties in other convents, among them Rearsby where she was assistant Novice Mistress; Hanwee, London: West Vale. Yorkshire, and St Peter's College. Kilmehew, Scotland
