`Press Sunday' declared

BISHOP ALEXANDER of Clifton has set aside this Sunday as "Press Sunday." In a pastoral letter to be read out in all the churches ovf the diocese, he described every Christian as a "reporter of the good news" and encouraged people to support the Catholic Press.

"Catholic papers can deepen

our understanding of the Faith through articles and reports of talks given by the Holy Father and other prominent figures in the Church.

"Some items may he more controversial and no one is expected to agree with everything . . . But we need the Catholic Press and the Catholic Press needs us."
