A couple of questions

Keywords: Religion / Belief

MRS MARIANNE Rowell (Catholic Herald, August 14) queries Pat Jones's stance on the ordination of women and on the Church's condemnation of contraception.

Jeanne Whelan responds (Catholic Herald, August 28) that we can trust our bishops not to appoint those who cannot accept the Church's teaching to "influential positions".

Instead of arguing the point I sugest that the warring factions go to the only authoritative source — the lady herself.

The Liverpool archdiocesan Catholic Pictorial quoted Ms Jones recently as saying "If anyone wants to know my position they only have to ask me."

Through the courtesy of your columns may I save them the trouble and do just that?

Over to you, Pat!

Pam Taylor Nelson, Lane.
