Pope's Day

The Episcopal Silver Jubilee of Pope Pius XII. will be celebrated by Solemn Mass in the Vatican Basilica on May 13, after which the Holy Father will give the blessing " Urbi et Orbe."

It is expected that bishops and priests throughout the world will arrange for special celebrations in their own cathedrals and churches, so that the day may result in a solemn " Pope's Day," when in union• with the Supreme Pontiff the whole Catholic world will give thanks to God for His gifts to their Common Father, and will implore for him a bountiful outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Pope Pius XII asks from his children a " union of hearts " on that day, but is desirous that no other external manifestation shall take place. There will therefore be no pilgrimage to Rome.
