Cardinal Griffin has promieed to perform the official opening
ceremony at the Challoner Club in London later in the year, when the development scheme is completed. His Eminence is the club's patron.
At present No. 61 Pont Street, one of the club's two houses. which used to be the Danish Legation, is full of builders and decorators.
Provision is being made. among other things, for a banqueting hall where old boys' and old girls' associations will be able to have their dinners.
The work. it is expected. will be completed in June, and meanwhile the life of the club goes forward without interruption in No. 59 Pont Street.
Membership is increasing steadily. and there will be a large party on the club's pilgrimage to Rome in September.
Col. and Mrs. R. G. Triggs have taken up residence in the club. Major Radclyffe Dugmore, who was appointed secretary when the club opened. resigned after a few weeks owing to ill health. and Col. Triggs is now the secretary.
Major Roberts continues to be assistant secretary and Mr. Michael Atkinson is catering manager, The club's annual subscription is one guinea.
