" Your first good turn should be at home to your father and mother," said the Bishop of Nottingham at a St. George's Day parade to "The Bishop's Own " troop of scouts on Saturday at St. Barnabas' Cathedral.
The Bishop-who was a member of this troop when he was a boyremarked : " It is nice to be good to other people and be thanked for it. but it is better to be good at home, where you may not get any thanks."
He also told the scouts to be proud of their country, but not to despise or took down upon, far less hate, the people of other countries.
He himself often used to have foreign visitors and would take them out into Derbyshire and show them the beautiful scenery, but he found that they were more interested in people and especially in the beheviour of the boys and girls of England.
