LUTON CPEA PROTEST

School turned down

As a protest against the Minister of Education's failure to make provision for Catholic schools at Luton. a petition is to be launched by the Catholic Parents' and Electors' Association. It is hoped to obtain 10.000 signatures.

The local authority has agreed to the Catholic claim and has made provision for Catholic schools in ifs education programme. but the. Minister. in passing the plans, has excluded them.

This is a complete reversion of the 1939 position at Luton, when the Ministry ordered the town authority to provide Catholic schools.
