Mayor of Louth at Mass

"[he Mayor of Louth, Lines, Councillor A. W. Jaines, a non-Catholic, accompanied by Mr. Cyril Osborne, M.P„ also a non-Catholic, the 'town Clerk and members of the borough council attended Mass in his official capacity on Sunday at St. Mary's Ch urch.

The parish priest, Fr. W. P. McEnery, remarked that it was a happy coincidence that the Mayor had chosen for the occasion of his visit the very Sunday when Catholics throughout the world were being reminded of their duties as citizens by the words of St. Peter's Epistle in the Mass of the day.
