Split ownership stops shrine's restoration

Because the ownership of St. Winefride's Well at Holywell is divided between Catholics and Nonconformists. the Fhntshire County Council states that it cannot offer any financial help towards the 112.000 needed for its restoration.

At present the crypt and well arc leased to St. Winefride's Church by the Holywell Urban Council, while the chapel is used by the Nonconformists.

The difficulty has arisen over the allotment of funds from the Pilgrim's Trust--because of the separate ownership. Efforts are being made to obtain the release of the chapel from the Nonconformists to the Holywell Council.
