MRS. Clement Attlee travelled
down last week to Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone. on the borders of Epping Forest, to present the annual medals, prizes and cenificates at the Nurses' Training School.
Gold Medal for the year-awarded to the student gaining the highest percentage of marks in the hospital examinations and considered reports on practical work in the wards over three years of training-was presented to a Little Sister of the Poor, Sister Angela.
Sister Angela is one of nine nuns who have been studying at the hospital. They come from the convent in Portobello Road, Kensington.
The Lister prize for surgery and surgical nursing. and the Nurses' League prize for practical nursing were also awarded to Sister Angela.
Miss Kate Geraghty received the silver medal, and the bronze medal was awarded to another Catholic, Miss Ellen Anna Healy.
