Sea change at church agency

THE APOSTLESHIP of the Sea (AOS) — an agency of the bishops' conference — is to be re-launched with a radical new model of mission and ministry to international seafarers.

On June 25, AOS will be unveiling its vision for the future. AOS National Direc tor, Commodore Chris York, said: -The shipping industry has changed beyond recognition since the glory days of British shipping in the 1960s and early 1970s. It is now a radically globalised industry which can fail to take into account the very real need of the crews."
