Papal Blessing For Farnborough Couple

The Papal Blessing, secured through Archbishop Godfrey, Apostolic Delegate, was imparted on Sunday last by the Very Rev. A. J. Sutherland, S.C. (Rector), to Mr. and Mrs. G. Davis, of Farnborough. on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their wedding.

Prior to the ceremony, Solemn High Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated at the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians by their elder son, Rev. Fr. G. V. Davis, S.C., M.A., of Cowley. Oxford.

Fr. Sutherland, In a brief address at the end of the Mass, referred to Mr. and Mrs. Davis' many years of devoted and self-sacrificing work on behalf of the parish, and to the hospitality and help accorded by them to the late Fr. Doran and the other early -priests of the Mission. God had blessed them by giving them a son in the sacred priesthood.

Mr. Davis, a member and Past Grand Knight of Co. 185 of the Knights of St. Columba, was mainly responsible for the erection of a Council of the Knights in the district.
