THE foundation stone of a I strikingly modern-type church, with campanile,' will be laid by Cardinal Godfrey tomorrow (Saturday). It is the new German church in the East End of London. and the German Ambassador will be present at the ceremony.

Dedicated to St. Boniface, it ie being built in Adler Street, and replaces the previous building destroyed during the war.

Known as the "German Mission ", St. Boniface's dates back to 1801, when a chapel for Germans was opened within the City of London itself by Bishop Poynter. The building destroyed in 1940 had been consecrated by Cardinal Schulte. Archbishop of Cologne. in 1925, when Cardinal Bourne and the then German Ambassador took part in the celebrations.
