Our Lady's Catechists Fr. Peter Giffin, S.T.L., L.S.S., of Wonersh

Seminary, addressed more than 104/ members of Our lady's Catechists at their autumn meeting on Saturday at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Hammersmith. His subject was the Old Testament. "We Catholics tend to know the Gospels well," he said, "but much of them is unintelligible without the Old Testament, which is the background from which the life of Jesus flowers." Now that we had other translations in addition to the rather difficult Douai form there was no reason why anybody should not gain a real knowledge of the Old Testament.
