R ROBIN 1100D, Administrator of The Catholic Fund for Overseas Development, has announced his intention to retire from the post sometime next summer.
He will then have been at Cafod for more than 12 years, nearly five as Administylor.
In a statement issued by Cafod, Mr Hood says that he felt the tim ehad come for a new person to take over. He later denied that he was retiring because he felt the organisation was becoming too politicised.
Commenting on the future of Calor!. he told the Herald: "We are fairly well established in the parishes now, and this should be eonsolidatd and increased. We also have a much greater cornmittment to education.'" Since 1977 Canes income has increased from £883,000 to more than £2,100,000.
