THE Barbican Arts Centre, the new multi-million pound project which will provide the London Symphony Orchestra with a permanent home, is to stage a series of preview concerts before its official opening in March 1982. The first of these concerts is to be given by the popular Catholic singer and player of the Celtic harp. Mary O'Hara (right). he will sing a selection of traditional Gaelic and English songs as well as more modern settings of verse and poetry.
These concerts, which also include performances by the London Symphony Orchestra and the King Singers, will provide an opportunity for audiences to see the new building at lower than normal prices. Mary O'Hara will start the series on Tuesday November 10, at 7.30 p.m.
