`Community' Church
Sir, Attending our local "Community Church" recently, I found their huge attendance to be impressive. There were
only 5 of us with white hair out of a congregation of about 300. Also impressive were the number of young men in "sharp" suits. It was an experience of genuine joy, real community and friendliness. Even the children played quietly with their books and games on the carpet alongside the rows of chairs. It was a Service of joyful hymns with orchestra and a swing bad. Some whacked tambourines and others offered prayers of petition. it seemed a church which one could attend "safely" without disloyalty and a community from which it seemed our Catholic communities could learn a lot.
Yours faithfully, MARY BYRNE Havant
