Lewisham is coming
THE Legion of Mary paper set lers at St. Saviour's Church, Lewisham, are out to beat the Legion in the Sacred Heart parish, Quex Road, Kilburn, who-as reported a month ago-now sell 1,600 Catholic papers every week.
The Lewisham parish, perhaps a quarter the size of the Kilburn one. started with a barrow and two dozen Catholic papers and pamphlets and soon reached 380 copies weekly.
On seeing the Kilburn record they stepped up their efforts, until last week-end they sold 789 copies-some on Saturday from the barrow, and the rest at the five Sunday Masses attended by about 2,000 people.
