New Assessor for Consistory

Mgr. Giuseppe Ferretto has been appointed Assessor of the Sacred Consistorial Congregation, which deals with the appointment of Bishops and the erection of dioceses in Britain, Ireland, the United States and many other countries.

The Assessor is the chief official under the Cardinal Secretary.

The Holy Father is Prefect of the Congregation. Mgr. Ferretto succeeds Mgr. Renzoni, who died recently.
