Canon Charles M. Westlake

Canon Charles Mary Westlake. parish priest of St. Mary of the Angels, Worthine. Sussex, and Rural Dean, died suddenly at Worthing last Saturday. aged 79. Born in 1879, and educated at Downside. Wortersh, and Paris. he was ordained in 1904. He was assistant priest sat Walworth and at Clapham Park. of ,which he became rector in 1908. From 1909 to 1917, he taught at Wonersh, to which he returned as Vice-Rector in 1919 after being successively secretary to the Bishop until 1915 and priest at Redhill. After one year ai Sydenhatn, he

moved to Worthing in 1923. He became Dean of Arundel in 1926 and a Canon of the Cathedral Chapter in 1931.
