The Christian Movement for Peace mill meet on Saturday March 7, 10am-7pm, in the Masterton Room, Cathedral

"Taize, a place for today" is the title of a BBC film to be shown in the Newman Lecture Room. the Priory, St Mary's Church, Harbourne. Birmingham, on Tuesday, March 11 at 8pm.

The Catholic Needlework Guild's report for 1979 is packed with stories of aid for the sick and needy. This includes help for Vietnamese refugees and schoolgirl mothers, blankets for Lourdes and for a geriatric home in Brentwood. The work was recently featured on BBC's Jim?! Fix It programme.

* * * A Coffee morning held in Knightsbridge last week to raise funds for sick pilgrims to go to Lourdes. has realised £230. Mrs Vincent O'Donovan who organised the event was "delighted". The money will be given to the Knights of St George.

* * * An open conference, "Boundaries of the Church?" will be held at Lincoln Theological College July 14-17. Topics include who then shall be saved?" are Marxists excluded'?" "The Urban Diocese Church or Community?" and "Morality. sacred or secular?" The cost will be £25, and further information is available from "I he Bishop's Hostel, Drury Lane. Lincoln LNI 3BP.

The Christian Drama society, Radios will be holding a summer school from August 8-16 in

The Catholic Women's League, Bournemouth, has made a presentation to Rev Mother Cecilia Claire, of the Nazareth Sisters, towards their project for the elderly in Southampton. A cheque for £500 was also given to Sister Rose Patricia. to provide calipers for crippled children in the Cameroons. West Africa. f500 was also given to CWL members who are working with Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong.

* * * The World Association for Christian Communication's Group Media Summer Workshop (July 14-24) is at Selly Oak College, Birmingham. The workshop is designed for those involved in church life who arc interested in or active in the use of the media. He has had many years experience of young people's work,, and has been regional youth leadership training officer for the Southern and Wessex provinces of the U RC for three years.
