Fr. Bernard Kelly, parish priest of Corpus Christi Church, Brixton Hill, gave
the CATHOLIC HERALD the following state
ment in connection with a statement in last
week's Sunday Graphic to the effect that
Catholics were to take part with seven other denominations at a "good-fellowship " meeting, at the Brixton Synagogue Hall.
"It is true." said Fr. Kelly, " I have been asked by representatives of local churches to join in this ' good-fellowship meeting but have declined on the grounds that such meetings' can get us nowhere and are a mere waste of time. I have written a letter to this effect to the Rector of St. Mathew's Church, Brixton Hill, and suggested instead. courses in Apologetic on the Etistence of God and the Immortality of the Soul to which," he added, " I should he only too willing to subscribe something in the nature of a prize."
Fr. Kelly sent a copy of Fr. Woodlock's Catholic Truth booklet on Is England Be coming Pagan'! with his letter. He has also written to the South London Press to the effect pointing out the inaccuracy of the Sunday Graphic's statement that Catholics in his parish were taking part in this " GoodFellowship " meeting.
