A NEW board of directors of the Standard (1938), Ltd, which publishes the Catholic Standard in Dublin has been appointed. John Feeney remains Editor.

Although Catholic Herald, Ltd, has relinquished control of Standard (1938), Ltd, a link will be maintained with the Catholic Herald and the Scottish Catholic Observer through Mr Otto Herschan, who is managing director of both.

It is the intention of the new board to expand the circulation and scope of the paper. The development of a new image for the paper has already begun.

Eamonn Andrews is writing an exclusive weekly column. Fr Michael Cleary, the "Singing Priest" will write regularly from his Ballyfermot parish.
