A m pl eforth boys among pilgrims in Portugal

About 100,000 faithful last month climbed two peaks in northern Portugal during ceremonies in honour of Our Lady.

At the close of a Marian Congress held at Santo Tirso, more than 50.000 persons and five Bishops joined in a procession to the top of Monte Cordova, on whose summit a church is being built.

At Braga a week's ceremonies closed with a procession of another 50,000 faithful with the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro on top of a hill near Born Jesus, outside Braga.

Among the foreign groups attending was one of schoolboys from Ampleforth College.
