Priest-poet dies

Fr. Johannes Kirschweng, celebrated in Eastern France and Western Germany for his poems, novels and short stories, has died in a hospital at Sarrelouis. He was 51.

Fr. Kirschweng was for many years parish priest of Bad-Neuenahr. He was a strong supporter of Franco-German understanding in his writings.
