8,000,000 PICTURES

Vatican MSS microfilmed

woRK has now been completed in microfilming 40,000 Latin and Greek manuscripts in the unique Vatican collection.

Each manuscript contains on an average 200 pages which means that 8,000,000 photographs were taken.

The manuscripts contain philosophical, juridical and historical works of the Middle Ages.

The microfilming was done for the Catholic University of St. Louis and paid for by the Knights of Columbus. The cost is more than 120,000,000 lire.
