Many Catholic students were successful in the recent University of London Extension Examinations at the Westminster Centre.
These Examinations are part of an important Dominican work. There were two sections, the first taking the First Epistle of St. Peter in connection with the Diploma in the Literary, Historical and Comparative Study of the Bible, with Fr. Vincent McNabb as Lecturer, and the second taking the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas, with Fr. Thomas Gilby as Lecturer.

COUNCIL TO ATTEND Opening of Beckenham's New Church
The Mayor, Mayoress and fourteen members of the Beckenham Council have accepted the invitation to be present at the solemn opening of St. Edmund's Church, Beckenham, on July 14.
When the invitation was read to the Council, the Rev. It Burgess, a retired Presbyterian minister, proposed that the Council should respond most heartily.
Budleigh Salterton Church Consecrated
The Bishop of Plymouth consecrated the Church of St. Peter, Prince of Apostles, Clinton Terrace, Budleigh Salterton, on Wednesday.
The ceremonies commenced at 7.30, and His Lordship sang Pontifical High Mass at 11.30 a.m.
Catholic Probationers' Committee
The first general meeting of the Catholic Probationers' Employment and Clothing Committee took place yesterday.

Ashbourne Church Jubilee
The Rev, F. Brown, parish priest of All Saints' Catholic Church, Ashbourne, who presided at the annual church garden fete at Ashbourne, said that they were celebrating the fiftieth year of their present church.
Miss H. M. FitzHerbert, of Sornersal Herbert who performed the opening ceremony. said that the success of the church was due to the happy spirit which prevailed in the parish.
Cardiff Ordinations
The Archbishop of Cardiff, Mgr. Francis Mostyn, will hold an ordination at St. Alban's Church, Cardiff, on Sunday, July 10, when he will raise the Revv. Patrick Crowley and Brendan Morris to the priesthood.

The Catholic Nurses' Guild held a meeting at the Virgo Fidelis Convent, Brompton Road. on Sunday.
