Cardinal Hinsley was delighted with the Yorkshire representation in the National Youth Pilgrimage to Walsingham on Saturday last, and as the contingents filed past, he exclaimed : "Bravo Yorkshire!" "Bravo Leeds!" "Bravo Bradford!" "Bravo Batley Carr!"
His Eminence met the Yorkshire pilgrims, who numbered 500, in the market place, and led them in procession. A pleasing ceremony was the presentation of a sheaf of white lilies by one of the girls from Mt. St. Mary's College, Leeds, and the Cardinal deposited the flowers on the spot in the Priory grounds where the apparition of Our Lady appeared.
The Rev. F. Sole, diocesan chaplain of the C.Y.M.S., organised the pilgrimage at the request of the Bishop of Leeds, and he had the active assistance of the members of Bradford St. Patrick's C.Y.M.S. The train left Bradford on Saturday morning at 5.30, and arrived back at 10.55, after a joyful and memorable day.
