London priest

One of the priests at the German church of St. Boniface in east London, Fr, Joseph Simml, S.C.A., has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, first class, by the West German Government. Fr. Simml has been working in London for the last 35 years.

St. Boniface's was completely destroyed during the war-Fr. Simml was, in fact, buried under the rubble and was severely injured-and work on rebuilding it is now approaching completion. Cardinal Godfrey will bless and open the new church in November, but it is hoped that the church will be able to be used from about August.
