CHURCH OPENED Bishop James Cunningham of Hexham and Newcastle last

week opened a new 150,000 church at New Seaham, near Sunderland, where for 32 years the people have worshipped in a temporary chapel. Fr, John Gits, appointed to the parish in 1934, died in January, just before the church was completed.
