On Sunday the extension of the new chapel of St. Thomas More at Four Marks, on the main road between Alton and Winchester, was opened with a Te Hewn at the end of Mass. The church has been made by reconstructing a disused garage, which had at one time been used as a snack bar. The entire work has been carried out by one workman and the reconstructed building was opened for Mass on Christmas Day. An extension has since been added, doubling the seating capacity, and after the former building had been completely crowded at Easter, the enlarged building was well filled on Sunday. The chapel is served from Alton, which has since the war become a centre from which Mass is now said at three other villages besides Four Marks.
