Archbishops both making progress

ARGIBISHOP DOWNEY of Liverpool, who was anointed last Friday night, was stated on Wednesday to he brighter and more comfortable, His earlier condition, due to a recurrence of the internal hmatorrhage he suffered in 1944, was critical and gave rise to considerable anxiety.

The condition of Archbishop Masterson of Birmingham, who underwent an operation on the lung last Saturday in the Westminster Hospital. was reported as satisfactory on the following day.

It was stated at Archbishop's House, Westminster. on Wednesday that he had maintained his progress.
